Emotional intelligence is a very important skill in life and leadership. It has five main elements such as – self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. Emotional intelligence refers to the capability of a person to manage and control his or her emotions and possess the ability to control the emotions of others as well.
People with well developed emotional intelligence are generally considered self-confident, persistent, motivated and able to control themselves. They thrive to be successful and they are constantly evaluating their attitude and thought’s.
Emotionally intelligent people, as research showed, are more successful than people with high IQ. People who develop emotional intelligence in adolescence or early adulthood more commonly have long loving and stable relationships, low level of depression and anxiety and they are more healthier.
We can be strong in some areas of the emotional intelligence and deficient in others, but we all have the power to improve in any of them.
